This Caltagirone Bummulu Malandrinu (Sicilian trick jug), Blue and Orange, shaped and decorated by hand, is the traditional Sicilian jug: the drop-shaped body ends in a point at the top, with the handle on one side and a spout on the other, and it stands on a bell-shaped foot. On the ivory ground, large blue volutes and acanthus leaves open out around a small central motif, with touches of light orange; the point is decorated with blue leaves and an orange tip, the handle is blue, the spout has blue and orange bands, and the foot has a blue volute motif with a small orange flower between orange and blue bands. It can be filled with water, wine or other drinks. It is 25 cm (9¾") tall.
