The Caltagirone ceramic Centerpiece with Flowers, Antique Mother of Pearl, Gold and Lustre is shaped and decorated by hand by Ceramiche Sofia: a low, round bowl whose straight side is adorned with five-petal flowers in relief. The button at the center of each flower is in lustre, alternating gold and copper red; the ivory glaze is antiqued, with a brown patina that settles in the grooves of the petals. The rim is in coral red lustre and a band of gold runs around the base.
